The Council of the Umtshezi Municipality has, with effect from 1 December 2014, in terms of section 156 of the Constitution read with section 11 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000, enacted the By-law relating to the Control of Public Nuisances.
The purpose of the by-law is to promote a safe, healthy and peaceful environment for the benefit of the public residing within the municipal boundaries and to provide for practices and procedures to control public nuisances.
